Bishop Andrew Visit to the Deanery

21st October 2027
A cathedral on a hill surrounded by lots of church buildings and the number 150, along with the text: "Celebrating 150 years - The Diocese of St Albans."

In 2027, the Diocese of St Albans will celebrate its 150th anniversary. It is a significant milestone in the life of our Diocese and an opportunity not only to give thanks for the past, but also to look forward with confidence to the future. As we begin this new chapter under the leadership of Bishop Andrew, it is hoped churches, schools and chaplaincies across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Luton and Barnet will help make this a year of celebration.

One of the main strands of the anniversary programme will be a series of visits by Bishop Andrew across the Diocese so he can encounter the rich and varied life of the Diocese and experience the diversity of our parish ministry, school life, chaplaincy work, community engagement, worship and mission.

Our deanery is partnering with Bishop’s Stortford deanery and has been invited to identify events, activities, projects or gatherings that might form part of Bishop Andrew’s itinerary when he visits.  We will add more details here nearer the time.  If you have suggestions, please let the Rural Dean know.
