Licensing of Revd Amanda Duncan

We welcome Revd Amanda to the benefice of High Cross and the benefice of Thundridge (held in plurality).

All are welcome: celebrate and pray with Amanda and the parishes at this key moment in their ministries.

Shaping the Culture of Local Churches

The well-known saying ‘culture eats strategy for breakfast’ suggests that even our best efforts to evangelise and grow churches can be thwarted if the culture of local churches is not supportive of and undergirding this intent.  This day will explore what culture is and how to read it, the ways in which culture and strategy interact (sometimes badly) and suggest ways of reshaping the culture in order that growth might be released as part of normal church life.  The day will include biblical study, practical teaching and plenty of interaction.

£28 for the first person and £15 for each additional person from the same church

Churchwardens’ Training

The day will begin with coffee and light refreshments at 9.30am, and we will start promptly at 9.45am.  Topics to be covered will include:

  • Churchwarden relationships with clergy and PCC
  • Issues arising from Quinquennial Inspections and Archdeacon Visitations (Church Inspections)
  • Insurance and Risk Assessments
  • Safeguarding
  • Faculties, Archdeacon’s Letters, Church Log & Terrier, and other processes

There will be opportunities for group discussion.  If you have specific questions, do please let the Archdeacon have these in advance.

It would be helpful if you could let the Archdeacon know if you intend to attend.  (See the letter for information to send.)
